A La Jolla, California woman has been experiencing a different kind of revenge porn. In her instance, nude photos of herself have been stolen from her iPhone and plastering the internet, allegedly by an ex-boyfriend. In addition to being a violation of her right to privacy, the pictures also put La Jolla in a precarious position due to how she is employed as a social worker for children in foster care. If even one of the kids she works with sees the pictures, it could result in criminal charges and termination from employment among other repercussions. The woman named in the case is Alejandra Alvarez, who after getting to know her alleged ex-boyfriend for several months, started planning a vacation together. Alvarez had recently moved to San Diego from Mexico City at the time of the trip. She contacted her girlfriend in Mexico about the proposed outing, who in turn called Alvarez's mother in Mexico before calling Alvarez back to tell her that she didn't want to travel with him. The mother then told Alvarez not to talk to her boyfriend anymore, but when he eventually called back they began talking again. Alejandra Alvarez then reportedly agreed to come back to Mexico, but wanted to see her friends in San Diego before she left. The pair finally met each other in La Jolla, California where he said he would leave his car keys with someone near the beach while they went out for the day. He said that when they returned, Alejandra would get his keys and drive back to Mexico with him without having to stay overnight in San Diego. Alvarez's friend was supposedly meeting them at the beach where he would leave his car keys, but she never showed up. This angered her boyfriend who then took pictures of himself pointing a gun at her. According to an interview with Alvarez, "He became furious and I was frightened of the situation. I told him that I would not go if he continued with such behavior and he put his car in reverse and started driving away." Her alleged ex-boyfriend then dropped off his friend at a nearby diner, but Alvarez was no longer in his vehicle. He drove around for two hours looking for her, before finally giving up and driving back to Mexico alone. No one has heard from him since. It wasn't until three months later that Alvarez noticed there had been unauthorized activity on her Facebook account, which she had connected with Instagram as well as Tinder under the name "Ale". These unauthorized logins seemed to be coming from a device with a Spanish IP address. Attempts to regain control of her social media accounts were unsuccessful. Alvarez then received an alert that several images she had received via text message had appeared on Tinder, including one that was sent to her boyfriend before the trip to Mexico. After speaking to her friend who she was supposed to meet at the beach, she was able to determine that all of the photos were taken by her ex-boyfriend who had taken them through her iPhone's camera roll. cfa1e77820
